FiReControl Sounding Board

Terms of Reference for the Control Project Sounding Board (CPSB)
The Fire Service Practitioners Forum has established the Control Project Sounding Board (CPSB) to act as a sounding board for all stakeholders, to consider all aspects of the Regional Fire Control Centres project, known as FiReControl, including views and concerns of all stakeholders to those aspects raised. It is intended that the CPSB will continue to provide this function for at least until the Regional Control Centres are established.
The members of the CPSB are intended to represent all stakeholders and are:
  • Chief Fire Officers’ Association (CFOA)
  • Fire Officers’ Association (FOA)
  • Fire Brigades’ Union (FBU)
  • General, Municipal and Boilermakers’ Union (GMB)
  • London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA)
  • Local Government Association (LGA)
  • Networking Women in the Fire Service (NWFS)
  • Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) FiReControl Project Team
The LGA has been asked by the Practitioners Forum to provide the Chair.
The CPSB is intended to be a communication conduit, both 'from those managing the project out to all affected by the project' and 'from all affected back to those charged with managing the project'.
The Board will report to the Practitioners Forum.
The meetings will be held approximately every 6 weeks, specifically 2 weeks before the Practitioners’ Forum. Meetings are usually held in the LGA Building, Smith Square, Westminster. Notes will be taken at the meeting and circulated to all Members of the CPSB.
